WSP Canada recently announced Michel Veilleux is joining its ranks in the role of senior director, Strategic Advisory Services — Transportation and Infrastructure.

An urban planner, Veilleux is passionate about sustainable and integrated mobility. He has worked for more than 30 years in the public transit sector in the province of Quebec, most recently as CEO of the Réseau de Transport de Longueuil (RTL), the third-largest urban transit corporation in Quebec.

Before that, he held the positions of deputy general manager for the City of Longueuil, vice-president of planning and development at the Agence Metropolitaine de Transport (AMT), and head of the planning division at the Societe de Transport de Montreal (STM). Veilleux was also chair of the Association Quebecoise des Transports (AQTr) from 2016 to 2018.

According to Philippe Morais, vice-president of Strategic Advisory Services at WSP in Canada, “Michel’s impressing track record is a clear indicator of his leadership qualities and of his abilities to foster engagement and innovation. Michel has challenged himself to make a direct impact at WSP by identifying and creating business opportunities that will bring major benefits towards innovation and sustainable development.”
